Universal Creative

Internship

As a Planning & Scheduling Technical Intern at Universal Creative in Summer 2023, I directly worked on How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk for Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, Epic Universe. In my role, I iterated and created schedules and trackers for static structures, mechanical systems, and attractions within the land. I also created decks for weekly executive site walks which included milestone dates, tracker graphics, and construction documents.

Through this experience, I learned much about the specific components that go into a variety of theme park attractions (dark rides, roller coasters, live shows, etc.), what a timeline for manufacturing and installing the equipment of an attraction looks like, and the standards that parts of attractions have to abide by.

As a Research & Development Intern in the Advanced Technology Initiatives (ATI) department at Universal Creative in Summer 2025, I worked on a variety of current and future projects. In my role, I conceived and prototyped a mechanical solution for a wearable device to solve IP holder needs, worked on internal robotics development to adhere to safety specifications, compiled a sensor library for internal use, and created 3 potential patent applications for the legal department to review.

Through this experience, I learned much about wireless technology, communication protocols, validation and testing procedures, wiring, and the patent process.
