Air Engine Attachments

Class Project

Within the Design and Manufacturing Laboratory, I manufactured an air engine and designed two potential attachments for the system. The first attachment was to use the air engine to oscillate a guitar pick to move up and down, allowed a guitar to be strummed. The second attachment was to use the air engine to oscillate a microfiber cleaning cloth to clean a phone screen, a computer screen, or glasses lenses.

After further analysis of the second attachment, it was found to be very difficult to manufacture as one part. Thus, I split it into two parts (one manufactured from steel bar stock and one manufactured using steel sheet metal) that would be welded together.
